Senior Vice President, Protein Platforms
Bob brings nearly 20 years of experience to the ProteinSimple development team. Most recently, he served as Director of Engineering at MDS Analytical Technologies (previously Molecular Devices, Inc.), where he directed multidisciplinary teams of mechanical, electrical, firmware, and systems engineers. Bob has a strong record of creating highly successful laboratory systems, including industry-leading optical plate readers and high throughput screening platforms. Prior to Molecular Devices, he managed a team of engineers at Affymax Research Institute, developing automated peptide and small molecule synthesis and compound-handling instruments. Bob holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University.
Vice President, Simple Plex
Marty comes to the ProteinSimple team through the recent acquisition of Cyvek, which he co-founded in 2010, and serves as the VP of Technology and site leader in Connecticut. Prior to Cyvek he worked at Illumina following the acquisition of another co-founded company, CyVera, where he developed tools for genotyping and sequencing. Over the past 16 years, Marty's innovative work with multidisciplinary teams has led to the development and commercialization of novel technologies (> 75 issued patents) in the fields of oil & gas exploration, telecommunications and life sciences. Prior to 1999 he spent 10 years conducting research in optical materials for the US Navy. Presently he is also a co-owner and founder of Cidra Precision Services, a leading provider of microfluidic solutions to the life sciences industry. Marty holds a B.S. in Physics from SUNY Geneseo and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
Vice President, Sales
Andrea joined the company in January 2012 and currently has worldwide responsibility for sales of all ProteinSimple products. Previously, she served as VP of Sales and Marketing for Protein Discovery, Senior Director of Sales for the Chemdex Division of Ventro Corporation, and Director of US Sales for Molecular Devices. She holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Vice President, Operations
Allen joined ProteinSimple in March 2015 and brings more than 20 years of experience to the Operations and Service organization. Previously, he held positions as Vice President and General Manager for the Life Science Mass Spectrometry business and Vice President Operations & Quality for the Scientific Instruments Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Prior to Thermo Fisher Scientific, Allen held senior General Management and Operations Leadership positions at PerkinElmer. Allen has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from Boston University.
John Proctor, Ph.D.
Vice President, Marketing
John joined ProteinSimple in May 2012, and currently has responsibility for all of global marketing including product management and marketing communications. He has a decade of experience marketing and selling novel Life Science instrumentation. Prior to leading the Marketing team, John was the Director of Corporate Development at ProteinSimple looking for strategic solutions to enhance ProteinSimple's product portfolio. Before joining ProteinSimple, John held various positions within marketing and field applications at ForteBio and Molecular Devices, including most recently as Director of Worldwide Field Applications at ForteBio. John has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Francisco.
Director of Finance
Don joined ProteinSimple in March 2009 prior to the commercial launch of Simple Western, and currently has responsibility for all of global accounting, order management, human resources, information technology and facilities. He has 20 years of experience in senior finance and accounting roles in a broad variety of start-ups and emerging growth companies. Prior to joining ProteinSimple, Don was a consulting interim controller with RoseRyan. Don has a B.A. in International Relations from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.
