Wes
Simple Westerns just got even simpler
Wes™ lets you separate and analyze proteins by size from 2-440 kDa. He also gets you down to pg-level sensitivity with just 3 µL of starting material. Got a lot of samples and no time? No problem. Unlike traditional western blots, Wes runs up to 25 samples in 3 hours flat and gives you quantitative, size-based data including total protein. Don't wait to discover, get going today with Wes!
I have too many samples and need higher throughput protein characterization
Our Simple Western systems offer the right throughput for your needs. Whether you are looking to process up to 24 samples per run or just 13, we have an instrument for you. Screen and optimize assays in less time than traditional western blotting. All the throughput you need with minimum hands-on time.
Time to Result | Throughput | Your Freedom | |
---|---|---|---|
Wes | 3 HOURS | UP TO 75 SAMPLES PER DAY | INCREASED |
Traditional Western Blotting | 24 HOURS | 20 | CONFINED |
I need a method that is quantitative
Whether you want to do absolute or relative quantitation of your target, you need to reliably be able to detect signal saturation and work within the linear dynamic range of your assay. With HDR detection profile and analysis Wes gets you up to 6 logs of dynamic range. This means less time optimizing to get within the linear detection range of your assay.
My sample is precious and I don't have enough for other methods
Traditional immunoassays, like western blot, often require too much of your precious sample. You end up having to pool samples together or be content with getting just a few data points per experiment. With Wes you only need 3 µL of sample per capillary, so you can maximize the data you get per experiment. Imagine all the data you can get from your sample!
"With Wes, we can do multiple assays with one sample collection."
— Mary Howell, Laboratory Coordinator, Department of Internal Medicine, East Tennessee State University

I am in a race to discover and I need my data faster
Tired of being handcuffed to your bench for hours tending to your gels and blots? Or maybe you are waiting in line for the dark room to free up? If your time is as precious as your samples and you need results faster, we will help you win the race to discovery with Wes—our gel-free blot-free, hands-free Simple Western instrument.

My current method is not reproducible
Are your assays lacking the reproducibility and reliability that you need to be confident in your research? With Wes, you can achieve intra-assay CV <15%. How's that for reproducibility?
%CV for ERK1 = 9.4% (n=24)
The environment matters to me
Meet Jamie Boisvenue from the Department of Pediatrics, University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. He found that traditional Western blot uses up to 300 pieces of plastic and Wes uses two. His lab joined the university's Office of Sustainability's Green Labs Program in 2013 that encourages labs across campus to be more environmentally friendly, and won the Campus Sustainability Leadership Award in 2015.
I'm frustrated with traditional Western blots
Traditional Westerns are as much an art form as they are a technical tool. They are rarely reproducible, they can take years to master and after you worked out the conditions they work beautifully until they don't, leaving you wondering what went wrong. Wes is fully automated, incredibly reproducible and gives you up to 25 data points in hours, not days.
